Vaman

Purpose: Vaman helps in removing ama (toxins) from the body tissues and digestive tract.

Nasya

Herbal Nasal Therapy

Who should take Panchakarma treatment?

Healthy individuals between the age of 16 to 70 years. For health preservation and rejuvenation.

For treating the disease of various etiology.

Can I go for Panchakarma even though I'm not suffering from any kind of disease?

Panchakarma is a therapy that can be done regularly (quarterly, half-yearly or yearly) to get the body of toxins free and provides protection from all kinds of diseases. As such, Panchakarma is right not just for people with health problems but also for the healthy since it helps in cleansing and rejuvenation. It works on all levels of the human energy system that features the mind, body and emotions.

What is the time period required for Panchakarma treatment ?

The duration for every procedure of Panchakarma therapy varies according to the selection of the attending physician. However the overall duration for panchakarma treatment range from minimum 7 days upto maximum 60 days. But it’s important to note that there’s no pre decided package for panchakarma treatments as every individual needs different and unique set of treatments for his/her health condition.

What diseases can be treated by Panchakarma?

First step: The first step is a consultation with the doctor involving Pulse Analysis (Nadi Pariksha) and complete physical examination, after diagnosis doctor will decide a specific treatment protocol for you including like lifestyle changes, Dietary recommendations, Prescription of high-quality herbs and a Specific and unique Panchakarma treatment protocol if needed.

Second step: If any Panchakarma treatments are prescribed by the doctor, they are performed by experienced therapists under the observation of the specialist doctor. There is routine check-up and examination by the doctor during treatments.

Third Step: After Treatments are finished a follow-up consultation including follow up advice, Dietary recommendations, Rejuvenative herbs, and follow up prescription is given.

Will Panchakarma provide me quick relief?

Panchakarma helps in the purification and rejuvenation of the body and mind. It does so by restoring balance of doshas and elimination of toxins. The therapy should be followed by a proper diet and lifestyle so that the positive changes triggered by Panchakarma are maintained, and noticeable results can be seen. Though Panchakarma may provide quick relief in relaxing and rejuvenating a healthy individual, in people with ailments it should take a while to point out effects.

How much ghee or oil do I need to drink?

The quantity/dosage of ghee or oil that you may be required to drink depends upon the state of your health and the underlying disease. It is decided by the physician after taking into account various factors such as intensity of your disease, strength of your gastric fire, your age, prevailing season, etc. You will be asked to increase the dosage of ghee and oils gradually so that you can easily adapt to the taste and intensity of its effects.

What should I eat during Panchakarma treatment?

No matter what the state of your health, you will be asked to take light vegetarian food and soups during the Panchakarma treatment to ensure that the doshas do not get impaired any further. You will be told to avoid heavy, spicy, oily, stale and non-vegetarian foods, while light, fresh and moderately spiced foods would be recommended. You are also required to avoid late meals and late sleeping or sleeping during the day. You will need to completely avoid consumption of tobacco, alcohol, drugs and non-vegetarian foods during the treatment.

Are there any lifestyle changes i would like to make during Panchakarma treatment?

An individual going for Panchakarma treatment should follow a gentle and relaxed lifestyle. Activities that unbalance or aggravate the doshas are prohibited. One is advised not to go to bed late in the night or sleep till late in the morning. Also, strenuous activities, daytime sleeping and sexual activities should be avoided. Patients are recommended to go for baths at least an hour after they are given massages.

Can I go for Panchakarma anytime during the year?

Yes. Panchakarma therapy can be carried out anytime during the year because it is designed according to the prevailing season. However, the spring season between March to April is considered the best time for emesis therapy for cleansing and rejuvenation as well as the autumn season is best time to go for Purgation therapy of  Panchakarma.

Can I go to work, while I am on Panchakarma treatment?

Generally, an individual undergoing Panchakarma is suggested to take rest and avoid mental and physical strain. You can go to work if you must. If your work does not involve much physical activity or mental strain, then you can definitely go to work while you are on Panchakarma treatment.
